SCHOLARSHIPS | Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) de la Fondation de l'UQAT

The Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) would like to support UQAT’s Indigenous students enrolled in an undergraduate program by offering several scholarships worth $2,500 and $5,000.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• You must be Indigenous (proof of Indigenous identity will be requested)
• You must be a student in one of UQAT’s programs of study (in any centre or campus, or via distance learning).
• Scholarships are offered to Indigenous students enrolled in undergraduate programs.
• Your enrollment must be active at the time of your application, and during the selection process.
• Full-time and part-time students are eligible.
• You must stay enrolled throughout the duration of the program.
• Scholarships will primarily be awarded to students living in precarious conditions to provide them with significant support. Other criteria may, however, be taken into consideration during the selection process, such as grade point averages (GPA) or involvement in the community.

SCHOLARSHIPS | ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND STUDENT INVOLVEMENT

Every year, the Fondation de l’UQAT awards MORE THAN $300,000 in new-student entrance scholarships and academic excellence scholarships to support student success and involvement. Academic Excellence and Student Involvement Scholarships are offered to students who stand out through academic excellence, and through their social involvement while attending university.

FONDATION UQAT'S HECLA QUEBEC ACADEMIC PERSEVERANCE SCHOLARSHIPS

Is your academic career motivating you to step up your efforts and persevere? The Fondation UQAT's Hecla Quebec Academic Perseverance Scholarships are available to you. More than $100,000 in scholarships from $1,000 to $3,000 each.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Must be a full-time or part-time undergraduate enrolled in the Fall term.
• Must be registered in at least 6 credits for the Fall 2023 term.
• Not have been a recipient of a scholarship in this perseverance scholarship competition during the past year.
• Other aspects may be considered when reviewing your application, such as:
• Academic grades;
• Paid employment (with exceptions for required placements that are part of the program of study);
• Must not have been a student in the previous two (2) years;
• Must have a dependent child;
• Involvement in university or community life.

Scholarships for all international doctoral students

Eligible students must:

• Have an international student status.
• Be admitted and registered as full-time students in a doctoral program offered by UQAT.
• Not benefit from another scholarship fully covering tuition fees.

Program Description

All international students registered in a full-time doctoral program at UQAT are guaranteed to benefit from a scholarship covering 100% of international tuition fees.

Government Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarships

Each year, UQAT offers around twenty tuition fee exemption scholarships provided by the University and the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MEES). These scholarships aim to encourage international students to come study in Quebec. They cover the totality of the tuition fees; recipients of these scholarships must pay all other related costs. These scholarships are not recurrent nor are they automatically awarded.

UQAT Excellence Scholarships

Students admitted to a doctoral program and who don’t have access to the MEES’s tuition fee exemption scholarships will be awarded an excellence scholarship covering 100% of international tuition fees.

Scholarships for International master's students - Research programs

Eligible students must:

• Have an international student status
• Be admitted and registered as full-time students in a master’s program, in research, offered by UQAT
• Not benefit from another scholarship that fully covers tuition fees

Program Description

All international students registered in a full-time master's program, in research at UQAT are guaranteed to benefit from a scholarship covering 50% of tuition fees.

As these scholarships are automatically offered, there is no deadline. No application is necessary. Your file is automatically reviewed if you are subject to international tuition fees.

Scholarships for International master's students - professional programs

Eligible students must:

• Have an international student status
• Be admitted and registered as full-time students in a master’s professional program offered by UQAT
• Not benefit from another scholarship that fully covers tuition fees

Program Description

All international students registered in a full-time master's professional program at UQAT are guaranteed to benefit from a scholarship covering 25% of international tuition fees.
