Native Speakers Luncheon

About Lunch Conferences

Over the past ten years, the UQAT Val-d’Or campus has scheduled monthly lunch conferences on issues that concern First Peoples. The conferences are open to everyone and give participants an opportunity to come into contact with the Aboriginal world, to interact with Aboriginal people, to get to know the cultural differences between Aboriginal nations, and to break down barriers. Webcast from Val-d’Or, these conferences are now available in real-time on the Web (see Panopto icon hereunder) and by deferred relay. While most lunch conferences are given in French, UQAT holds one conference in English per semester.

Over the past decade, more than 75 speakers from Aboriginal communities have participated in lunch conferences offered by UQAT. To receive invitations to our lunch conferences, please write to patricia.martin@uqat.ca.
